SRV Records in Shared Hosting
If you have a shared hosting account with our company and the DNS records for a domain name added in it are controlled by our system, you will be able to set up any record that you need with ease, including an SRV one. This is done via the user-friendly Hepsia Control Panel and as soon as you sign in to your web hosting account and check out the DNS Records section, you will only have to fill a few boxes with the required data and your new SRV record will be active in several hours. You can enter the service, protocol and the port number that you would like to use along with the priority and the weight of the new record based upon how you intend to set up your system or what the third-party provider needs. When required, you can also change the TTL (Time To Live) value for the record, which shows how long it'll remain active after you modify or erase it. The standard TTL value for the majority of records is 3600 seconds and you can leave it if you don't specifically need a different one.
SRV Records in Semi-dedicated Servers
Because we know how frustrating it could be to deal with DNS records, we are going to give you an easy-to-use DNS management instrument as part of our custom-made Hepsia Control Panel, so when you host your domain names inside a semi-dedicated server account from us, you are going to be able to create an SRV record without troubles. We also have a step-by-step guide, that'll make things even easier. Using an intuitive interface, you'll have to input the info that the other company has provided you with - protocol, port number and service. Unless they've given you specific recommendations to change the priority and the weight values, you can leave those two options as they are and your new record will go live in a few minutes. The Time To Live option (TTL) may also be set to a custom value, but normally the default value of 3600 seconds is used for almost all records. This value reveals the time the record will keep existing after it's changed or erased.
