A catch-all email mailbox receives messages sent to nonexistent email addresses under the exact same domain name. For instance, a message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can receive messages from buddies or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typo or to an old one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at a certain point you may begin receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be sent to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

Configuring a catch-all mailbox will be unbelievably easy if you’ve got a shared hosting plan with us. You can enable this option through our powerful, yet simple-to-use Email Manager tool, which is an indivisible part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll manage your hosting account. You will find all the mailboxes that you have set up shown alphabetically and to the right of each one there will be a small-size "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously show you whether a specific mailbox stores all the messages for a given domain or not. With one mouse click on the icon you can enable or disable this option whenever you wish. If there is activated email forwarding or in case another mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a specific domain name, you’ll get a warning notification from our system. The latter will not deactivate/replace anything automatically or without your consent.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The in-house developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel that is included with every semi-dedicated server plan that we offer will allow you to create a catch-all mailbox easily even in case you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All you need to do to achieve that is click the catch-all icon, which will be on the right-hand side of each email address that you have set up using your domains in the Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Since you can have just one single mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will let you know if you’ve already set up a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you wish to use has email forwarding activated. If you decide that you do not want this feature anymore, you can remove it by clicking again on the same icon. The Email Manager section will also permit you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
